Whether you choose a rustic country setting or your favourite park - What ever season you plan to get married in some consideration to the weather is always required.
Our very special guest today is Jodie Bidder from Sami Tipi Events.
Sami Tipi is a family run business led by Jodie and her husband Craig. They are based in the Midlands and provide tipi hire throughout the UK. Their love of tipis began in Dubai when they came across them at a major sporting event. They came away completely smitten and wanting to work with these fabulous structures!
Here's Jodie with some of Sami Tipi’s top tips to consider when planning an outdoor wedding in the UK:
For those sunny days, make sure your venue is airy. This can be easily achieved with a tipi by having some of the sides up and open. Also include outdoor seating, vintage deck chairs are hot property at the moment and make for some wonderful photo opportunities. Also provide your guests with sun glasses as a wedding favour: you don't want them to be blinded by the sun and ‘your love'!

For a windy day why not use wind chimes or flowing ribbons tied to the trees. These will not only look great but will also sound great too.

Maybe invest in some funky umbrellas not only for a rainy day, but parasols look fantastic and are functionable to help keep the sun off your guests, especially if you plan to have an outdoor wedding ceremony.

Use citronella candles to keep those bugs away. They contain a natural insect repellent and will help to create a stunning atmosphere.

Ensure you check out your proposed venue in the same season that you are getting married. A lush garden with blooming flowers and green trees will look a lot different in autumn and winter.
Make sure you let your guest know the programme for the day, that way they can come prepared with sun cream, rain coat or even wellies. If it is going to be a hot day consider providing bottles of water or alternatively for cold evenings some snuggle rugs.

The British weather is so unpredictable even in the height of summer so make sure you have a plan B. You need to be adaptable and have planned in advance what to do in the event of a sudden downpour. Hire a tipi or marquee that allows the walls to be raised or lowered depending upon the weather and check that your tipi or marquee hirer has already considered such eventualities.
Thanks Jodie!
