Having met and worked with so many fabulous wedding suppliers in the East Midlands I was thrilled to be asked by the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners (UKAWP) to organise this years Mix and Mingle event in our fabulous region.
The venue for this year's event was The Living Room in Nottingham's stylish Lacemarket. Our venue host for the evening was the lovely Katrin Puutsa and our guests were treated to delicious canapés and some rather fabulous cocktails!
We were joined by photographers, make up artists, venue stylists, bridal boutique owners, wedding planners, singers, musicians, web designers and developers with businesses based in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

Adam Lake from The Living Room treated guests to a demo of their Cocktail Masterclass
and a few of us tried our hand at mixology - A little concentration and lots of shaking!
Following the masterclass demo we were entertained by the fabulous Rob Baker Band and as the music took hold there was even a little bit of dancing!
As the evening drew to a close our guests were presented with a few treats to take home.
All in all it was a great fun filled evening with lovely people who seem to enjoy making new connections and catching up with old friends. Not bad for a Wednesday evening! Take a look at this Storify thread for a few of the tweets and comments following the event.
I would like to thank:
Mark Pugh for the absolutely gorgeous photographs captured on the night.
Lee Garland for his fabulous vintage photobooth - a real hit on the night!
Katrin Puutsa and all the staff at The Living Room Nottingham for hosting the event and for looking after us so well.
Rob and Matt - Rob Baker Band - for entertaining our guests.
UKAWP - for giving me the opportunity to plan the event and to represent the UKAWP in the East Midlands,
....and last but by no means least, thank you to all our guests who came along to mix (quite literally!) and mingle!
