7 Country Wedding Venues That Will Steal Your Heart

1.    Wootton Hall

This family-run wedding venue is nestled in the Lincolnshire countryside on the Wootton Hall Estate. Private and secluded with plenty of grandeur and timeless charm, this elegant country house has its very own luxury bridal wing, private suites within the hall, and exclusive-use cottages dotted throughout the estate.

As well as personalised service, you and your guests will be free to enjoy the stunning gardens and private golf course. With a beautiful barn available for your reception, and the ballroom, walled garden or front of the main house to choose between for your ceremony, you can make Wootton Hall your home for as long as you need. Having worked closely with them, I can confidently recommend the incredible in-house team. The venue owners are also lovely and their bespoke, customised approach to weddings and events is exactly what I look for when helping clients find the perfect setting for their celebration.

Sitting proudly amidst 2500 acres of rolling parkland in the heart of the Leicestershire Wolds, this Grade I private manor house near Loughborough can be exclusively hired for your celebration. As well as immaculately kept grounds, when you step inside, prepare to be awed by displays of fine architecture, stunning antique furniture, and period paintings.

Offering informal indoor and outdoor options for wedding ceremonies and receptions, they also have another venue on the estate - The Hall Barns. The rustic beauty of the renovated barn has a very different look and feel to the main house, but you’ll still be surrounded by the charming Leicestershire countryside.

3.    Silverholme Manor, The Graythwaite Estate

Lake District wedding venue

Built in 1820, Silverholme is a Grade II listed Georgian Manor situated on the shores of Lake Windermere in Cumbria’s Lake District National Park. Lovingly restored in 2013, it remains true to its original features while also offering an array of modern luxuries. The Manor itself can accommodate up to 18 adults, and the venue has the capacity to host up to 200 guests in total across 35 other properties on the estate.

The converted Coach House is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies. For humanist ceremonies, you also have the option to get married outside in a beautiful lakeside setting. If you’d prefer to exchange vows in a church, you’re spoilt for choice – there are seven within a 5-mile radius.

Just 20 minutes from York, this Grade II-listed Victorian country house is one of North Yorkshire’s finest exclusive-use wedding venues. Dating back to the 1840s and built by Edward Blore, known for his work on Buckingham Palace, between 1955 and 2009 Thicket Priory was home to an order of nuns and sealed off from the outside world.

Today, this tranquil sanctuary offers 35 en-suite bedrooms, a magnificent ballroom that can seat up to 160 guests, a private chapel, 18 acres of grounds, and a private lake and a boathouse. A myriad of mysterious staircases and doors make this historic venue feel even more magical.

With sweeping staircases, elegant rooms, gorgeous grounds, sumptuous bars, and more than a few hints of eccentric whimsy throughout, Norwood Park is an exclusive use private country estate in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Sensitively restored to its original grandeur, I love the way it fuses the old with the new. Better still, the in-house events team work hard to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, delivering the very best country house experience to all who visit.
