Today we are featuring the marquee wedding of our clients Lauren and Oli, which involved an array of spectacular hats, an out-of-this-world outfit change and a celebratory fireworks display. All images captured by the brilliant Richard Tilney-Bassett at The Glass Passport.
Marquee weddings are always exciting because they require a high level of preparation and execution, and tackling complex logistics is right up our street! Lauren and Oli’s light and airy marquee from Cambridge Tent Company played host to their party, and was decorated with summery blues, greenery and classic white with hints of lilac. The settings were elegant with a splash of fun - just the way we like it at Benessamy! The space was brought to life by tall, wild floral arrangements by Blooms of Newport Pagnell, featuring pops of colour to echo the place settings.
In the morning Lauren got ready at the family home, while the team put the finishing touches to the marquee styling and readied the space for the perfect celebration. Lauren was radiant in a stunning Suzanne Neville dress, and her styling dream team comprised Marc Andrews for a chic coiffeur and Philippa Louise for make up. A vintage car swept Lauren off to church to meet Oli and say their ‘I dos’, and guests were transported on a London Routemaster courtesy of Alpha Bus.
After the ceremony everyone returned to the family home to enjoy a champagne reception and canapes in the sunshine we were so lucky to have! The fabulous team from 10 Greek Street (one to make a note of for next time you’re in London!) catered the wedding, with their team serving up delicious morsels with a smile and a fun, summery outfit at the couple’s request.
Once everyone was seated for dinner the speeches got underway, and guests enjoyed the best man’s fun twist on proceedings; selecting one of many fabulous hats at random, and saying a few words about its unsuspecting owner.
As the evening drew in, the atmosphere in the marquee was as fizzy as the champagne - a round of fun sweet treats from Gabriella’s of Olney and a grand cheese platter from The Cheese Plate were provided to keep guests dancing all night long. Lauren surprised Oli and all their guests with an outfit change - and what a change! She sparkled as she swept back into the marquee, and the entertainment from Truly Medley Deeply had the whole place on their feet.
