Thomas The Caterer is a bespoke wedding and event catering company led by Chef Thomas Bower. I've had the pleasure of working with Thomas and his team on a number of events and weddings. When you spend any time at all talking to Thomas, his passion for what he does and his love of great food soon becomes very clear. Here's Thomas to tell you why he enjoys his job so much...

What inspired you to start your business?

To begin with why did I become a chef? In short I was hungry! My passion for food began at an early age when I fell in love with spaghetti carbonara! And the rest is history.

I was inspired to start my business because I knew that I could be the go to man when it comes to cooking in a field! I love my job and love the closeness I get when discussing menus with my clients and making a wedding menu dream become reality!

What do you enjoy most about your business?

I enjoy meeting excited new brides and grooms to be. I love the interaction and all the great ideas that get bounced off us all! But honestly, from enquiry to execution of the event, I love it all and thrive on my clients' happiness!

What has been the best moment of your business so far?

Every time I get a little note saying thank you or a great testimonial. People are genuinely happy with the service I have given them. Because they know that when it comes to food, come to me Thomas The Caterer your event to a T!

Can you give us a ‘Typical day in the life of....'?

That would be a tough one to answer as no day is ever the same. One day I'm meeting clients, the next I'm submerging myself in cookery books and the next I may be spending time with my young family. It's a very exciting time and I love what I do!

What are you most excited about in your business plans for the next few months?

Over the next few months I have some amazing and varied events from weddings to 50th birthday parties, christenings and plain and simple barbeques! Over the next few weeks I will also be meeting with clients for next year and discussing their dreams so that's always a wonderful time to look forward to!
