Holme Pierrepont Hall is a wedding venue I absolutely ADORE! Situated in a secluded 30acre estate just a few minutes from Trent Bridge in Nottingham, it remains a bit of a hidden gem.
Surrounded by romantic, tranquil gardens and filled with period features, Holme Pierrepont Hall is one of the most historically significant country houses in the East Midlands. It’s the family home of the Brackenbury family, direct descendants of the Pierrepont family who have lived on the site since 1280.
The Grade I listed Tudor manor house on the estate today dates back to 1500, with later additions and alterations having been made since then. The building features some of the earliest brickwork in the county and the grounds are just beautiful. I particularly love the drama of the yew trees in the beautiful East Garden.
There are several notable figures connected with Holme Pierrepont Hall, including Georgina Brackenbury (1865 - 1949), the renowned artist and militant suffragette, and the last Countess Manvers, Marie Louise Pierrepont, a prolific and accomplished artist. Two generations of the Brackenbury family continue to live in the Hall today.
The venue has three rooms available for wedding ceremonies and receptions - each with a very different style and ambience. All three rooms are licensed for wedding and civil partnership ceremonies.

A popular dressing room for brides and bridesmaids, the venue’s stunning Victorian Bedroom is also available for couples who would like to spend their wedding night at the Hall.
The room features a Victorian four-poster bed made in Nottinghamshire and a bedcover crafted from 19th Century Nottingham lace. There are numerous other antiques in the room including colourful 19th Century china wall plaques, a French bureau dating back to around 1860, and a Hepplewhite tub chair from 1780.
The venue uses carefully selected caterers for their wedding catering with different chefs offering very different menus to suit a variety of personal tastes and wedding styles. Whether you’re looking for formal fine dining or more casual fare, they’ll be able to curate a menu and wine list to suit.
Holme Pierrepont Hall really is a fabulous Nottinghamshire wedding venue. I can’t wait to return with my clients in 2020.
